Neutron Flux Determination for the NEAR Station at the CERN n_TOF Facility Using the SAND II Unfolding Code

The NEAR station, a new experimental area of the n_TOF facility, was established after second long shut down CERN in 2020. This created order to exploit situ high instantaneous neutron flux (originating from proton spallation into lead target bunches with momenta reaching up 20 GeV/c). reason for creation station is utilize neutrons experiments related radiation damage on materials and nuclear astrophysics corresponding characterized via extensive multiple foil activation measurements. irradiated foils were subsequently measured using purity germanium detectors (HPGe) determine their induced activities. Finally, widely used SAND II unfolding code implemented characterization flux, evaluated cross sections IRDFF library, along experimentally derived preliminary results concerning determined present work are compared FLUKA simulated ones.
